About The Role At Trapets

We are seeking an experienced UX Lead to join our Product Team and support the development of our four product lines: Know Your Customer, Transaction Monitoring, Screening, and Market & Trade Surveillance. In this role, you’ll combine user research, UX design, and design system management to create seamless, intuitive, and visually appealing products. You'll collaborate closely with Product Owners, developers, and other key stakeholders to balance usability, aesthetics, and technical feasibility. Your contribution will ensure that Trapets deliver exceptional user experiences across all products.

Key Responsibilities

User Research & Insight

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to gather insights into customer needs, behaviours and pain points across Trapets product suite.
• Plan and execute usability testing for new and existing product features to ensure functionality and ease of use.
• Analyze test results, synthesize insights, and collaborate with development teams to iterate and improve product designs.
• Work closely with Product Owners to understand commercial goals and align user needs with business objectives.

UX Design & UI Prototyping

• Translate research findings into sketches, wireframes, and briefings to developers.
• Provide design specifications and collaborate with front-end developers to ensure the correct implementation of UX- and UI elements.
• Optimize user workflows and interfaces based on feedback and ongoing improvements in functionality and design.

UX Process and Tools

• Establish a structured, end-to-end process for UX work, utilizing input and resources from relevant collaboration teams.
• Secure a clear information architecture, organizing data structures, navigation, features, and interactions across the Trapets product suite.
• Create user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to inform the product design process.

Design System Management

• Introduce and maintain a consistent design system across all products to ensure a cohesive user experience, in collaboration with Marketing.
• Establish UI guidelines, style guides, and design patterns that can be adopted by front-end developers to maintain consistency and scalability.

User- and Tech Feasibility of Product Ideas

• Work with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Software Architects, and Developers, to assess both technical feasibility and user experience viability for new product features and concepts.
• Ensure that the design solutions are scalable and achievable within the existing technical frameworks, while still delivering exceptional user experiences.

Who We Are Looking For: 

• Comprehensive UX and UI Design Experience: You’ve worked through the entire design process, from user research to visual design and handoff to development.
• Strong Research Skills: You’re comfortable conducting user interviews, usability tests, and analyzing data to drive design decisions.
• Collaborative & Open-minded: You thrive when working alongside internal stakeholders, balancing user-centered design with technical feasibility, and value feedback as a tool for improvement.
• Proficiency with Design Tools: You're skilled in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and prototyping tools for wireframing and mock-ups.
• Experience with Design Systems: You’ve built and maintained design systems, ensuring UI consistency across products.
• Understanding of front-end technologies: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to understand how designs translate to code and what is feasible within the product's front-end architecture.
• Empathetic: You’re driven by understanding user needs and delivering seamless experiences.
• Detail-oriented yet strategic: You have an eye for details but can also zoom out and think strategically about product design and its impact on users.
