Annika Lindström - The operational role in customer trust
1.Tell us about yourself.
My name is Annika Lindström. I work as Chief Operating Officer at Trapets and have a banking and finance background.
I understand what it means to work in a regulated industry, and I am driven by continuously improving to meet both our own and our customers' demands and needs.
2.Describe your role as COO at Trapets. What does your day look like?
I have a broad role as a Chief Operating Officer, so my days can look very different.
However, an essential aspect of my job is keeping track of regulations such as ISO27001 and DORA, and ensuring that we implement them in our operational processes.
For example, I coordinate Trapets' efforts to address risks proactively and drive improvements.
3.What role does the COO play in driving innovation within the company?
As COO, I promote working in a risk-based manner to proactively identify areas for improvement.
For instance, when a new regulation is proposed, our first step is to fully understand its implications, given that we and our customers operate in a highly regulated industry.
Next, I collaborate with colleagues to conduct a gap analysis of our existing operations. Following this analysis, we propose and implement updated routines and processes to ensure compliance and enhance our efficiency.
4.Trapets works with customers in a heavily regulated industry. How do you ensure our processes hold high standards and maintain trust and transparency with our customers?
We constantly face increasing demands regarding regulations and how they can affect us and our customers, meaning that we work proactively with continuous improvements to meet our customers' expectations.
One way to do so is to maintain a direct dialogue with our customers. I recently invited one of them to share how they are affected by various factors in their business. This direct dialogue helps us gain deeper insights into their needs.
Moreover, each year, we create a report called the Vendor Report. In this report, we describe our risk management and information security practices, ensuring that we provide our customers with transparency.
5.Can you share 3 tips for ensuring continuous operative improvements across the company?
- Encourage collaboration across the company.
- Foster psychological safety in the organisation to encourage admitting mistakes and raising areas for improvement.
- Embrace a mindset of constant learning and improvement – improvements make everyone a little happier. 😊
